The Universe giveth, the Universe taketh away…

Were you holding your breath? Risk asphyxia no longer. Our car has officially been declared a total loss. Thank you, lady who should never have been driving a truck in the first place!

We’re taking about a car that was well parked at the time it was totaled, a car we didn’t pay for (A gift. A what? Un cadeau!), in perfect working condition, rust-free, which has cost us less than a thousand dollars in nine months, including insurance, maintenance and getting the tires changed (excluding gas). We’ll get barely above that. That’s the car’s estimated value as per the insurance company. Well… let’s step our of our legal brain (yes I have one of those…) for a minute and think about the actual value of the car to us… It’s not very hard to evaluate: on top of lost work time (also called money, strangely enough), add however much it will cost us for us to get a new vehicle! Vehicle itself, insurance (time lost for both)… The payment is not even close to being at a point where close can be seen on the horizon with expensive binoculars.

Such is life. Well, such is life when random idiots decide to invade your possessions and destroy them out of sheer ignorance and stupidity. They, by the way, get to move on with their life without giving any further thought to their actions.

Maudites assurances.
