Well, people, Herb has had his final knee surgery, and all went better than well (heck, I was home by 8:30 pm, he had an actual dinner, and he ended up getting a private room for the price of a double room!). Not only that, but the convalescence, it seems, will be much shorter this time around: he starts physio on Monday! He did have pain, but nothing compared to last year, and he has been crutching around, reading and being generally funny and upbeat. Can you imagine the extent of our relief? I doubt you can!
(Meanwhile, I saw a doctor and got anti-inflammatories for my elbow. The pain only got worse so far, but the point is, I have now — begin ominous music — entered the system — end music. I’m expecting to have to go back to that doctor in a week or so. Then we’ll probably discuss cortisone injections in my elbow. And right now, I want those. I’m in constant pain. Usually low grade, but with stabs of shooting pain anywhere from my wrist to my shoulder and feelings of extreme internal heat (guess they call it inflammation for a reason, huh.) from morning till night and every time I wake up at night (oh yeah, the insomnia is somewhat back).)
