Ketoacidosis

We brought Katcher in to the intesive care at the emergency vet clinic last night. His diabetes had created complications (ketoacidosis) that must be gotten rid of asap and brought back to “normal” diabetes. He’s fine now, doing well and being monitored, but they ordered an ultrasound to see his organs — because diabetes can be a symptom of other stuff, such as pancreatic cancer. I’m waiting to hear the results, cancer now being my main terror. So far the good news is that we caught the ketoacidosis early — he could have been dead within days. Now I’m hoping and praying that he ONLY has diabetes and that he can come home very very soon and be treated by me for years and years still. I’m in limbo right now. Last night it was panic. Last night it was a matter of gathering any cents and pennies lying around so I could pay the $2000 deposit for this adventure. It was paid (now as to how I’ll pay the rent…) and now I want my cat to recover asap and come home. Not only so the bill stops growing, but for everyone’s best interests. Be good, my baby Katcher, and come home and everything will be okay, I promise. I need you, baby.
