Le monde du vieux bandit

It has a lot to do with Creacamp last Saturday. Creacamp lit many sparks. It has a little to do with the unnaturally warm weather we had at the end of the week, which really transported me to late July and what I do in late July. Got me excited. Whatever it is, wherever it comes from, I don’t care. The reason I’m not bloggy-bloggy these days is that — on top of being quite busy (and therefore extremely happy) with translation contracts — I am exploding with creativity! I’ve been taking more pictures, I’ve been filling page after page with drawings and schematics and text describing the ideas that spring to my mind, and this afternoon (I slept the morning away — we had friends over and it was too much fun to look at a clock… or to count the glasses of wine!) I got back into making jewelry. No pictures yet, because I want to do this right, and that means taking the time for it and using the proper tools, but let me just say that I am in love with a pair of earings I made (even though all of my 11 earings are captive-bead rings or stretches and so I never ever change them — but who cares if I don’t wear them anyway? If I wore them I wouldn’t see them! I love them too much: I neeed to see them on someone else!) and which is going to launch an entire jewelry series. When I say “explosion”, that’s what I mean. Last year on this date I had nothing. Two months later, I had one series of necklaces. This year, I’ve done almost nothing — nothing but think and write down ideas. In two months? Just watch me. And it’s not just jewelry — I have many, many projects. I’m booming, I’ze tell you! Booming and blooming.

Oh, and you know what? It feels damn good! (And if you don’t have plans for late July, now you know where to go!)
